The Big, Shiny Red Bucket

Posted by

So, you walk into a room and there is an old man in bed. His time is expired.

He’s dying. He knows it and so do you. On his shelf is a big, red shiny bucket- dusty but shiny. Out of the bucket come these things up to his bed.

These things are his dreams, desires, talents, ideas, opportunities & skill sets. They stand there and say to him: “Why did you leave us in the bucket your whole life. We have been waiting ALL these years for you to bring us to life. You were the only one who could! Now we must die forever with you!”

This man could of had a “successful” life, with a beautiful home, nice vacations, great job…. but was he thriving and reaching his destiny and potential? No! How tragic. How tragic also for the world around him not experiencing the jewels he really had inside.

What makes a man stop living his true self? I think fear. I know that the inconceivably great God is so passionate about us that he knows how to reach in our broken hearts & create a beautiful life- creating the most fantastic adventure you could ever find on earth.

Les Brown says… “We are not made to work for a living but to live our making.”
